Large Italian luxury SUV with V6 and V8 finance paths that run very differently.
Last reviewed: 23 April 2026
The Levante is Maserati's large luxury SUV, sold in NZ through authorised prestige dealers in V6 and (in limited volume) V8 Trofeo guise. Production has recently concluded, which has sharpened depreciation across the used market and widened the negotiation room on dealer-yard stock. Lenders price the Levante as ultra-niche luxury security, with loan-to-value caps tighter than on equivalent Porsche Cayenne stock and a pronounced split between V6 and V8 running-cost profiles.

Financing notes
At $85,000 over a 4-year term at 9%, a used Levante GranSport V6 lands around $489 a week or $2,120 a month. On a 5-year term the weekly drops to around $411 and total interest grows from about $16,700 to about $21,000. Trofeo finance is a separate conversation: $165,000 over 4 years at 9.5% lands around $968 a week with total interest near $34,000, and most lenders cap the term at 4 years on V8 Levante.
Model-specific questions
With complete Maserati NZ service history and a clean specialist pre-purchase inspection, yes. Lenders price the used Levante V6 at standard luxury-premium rates, though loan-to-value caps are typically tighter than on a Porsche Cayenne of the same age. Without provenance, the offered rate typically climbs 1.5 to 2.5 percentage points because Levante residual-value risk on private-sale stock is materially higher.
No. Trofeo combined running cost sits $6,000 to $10,000 a year above a V6 Levante across fuel, tyres, servicing, and insurance. Most lenders cap the Trofeo term at 4 years and require a 30% deposit minimum, because V8 Maserati depreciates more sharply in the used market and running cost is materially higher. Plan for a shorter term and a larger deposit from the start.
Yes, at most luxury-tier NZ lenders, provided the Levante has cleared NZ entry compliance. The rate typically carries a 1 to 2 percentage point premium over NZ-new equivalents, the maximum term is often capped at 3 to 4 years, and several lenders require a 30% deposit minimum. Expect to provide UK service history, import paperwork, and a specialist inspection report with the application.

Disclaimer
A car loan is a commitment that runs for years, and repayments come out of the same pay cheque as everything else. Before committing, it is worth modelling the weekly and monthly cost against the household budget, which is what this site is built to help with. Borrowing at a level that stays comfortable on a bad week, not a good one, is widely regarded as the safer frame.
Carfinance.org.nz earns a commission from a partner brand when a visitor applies through this site and their application is approved. That commission is paid by the partner, not the applicant, and it does not influence the rate the lender offers. We refer every visitor to the same partner because they compare multiple New Zealand lenders on the applicant's behalf, so the recommendation is not driven by a sponsored deal. Every figure shown on this site is a modelled estimate based on the inputs entered; the actual rate, fees, and repayments are set by the lender after assessing the applicant's circumstances and own credit decision. Carfinance.org.nz is a calculator and information tool. We are not a lender, not a broker, and not a registered financial adviser. Any decision about whether a specific loan suits a specific situation is best made after talking with the lender, and for amounts that materially affect the household, with a registered financial adviser.
